RNO Relationship Committee, Australian scholarships and businesses.

First Quantum has provided more than AUD$350,000 via grants and scholarships to the Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar people. Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation’s (“RNO”) Relationship Committee is working to advance the health, education and wellbeing of the Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar people in the Esperance-Goldfield region of Western Australia, where First Quantum has been operating since 2007.

A forum for conversation
The RNO Relationship Committee acts as the main forum between First Quantum and the Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar people, with the operations of the committee coordinated by Noongar Development Officer, Graeme Miniter. In 2022, the committee distributed AUD$359,994 to 813 applicants, supporting the Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar people to build better futures for themselves, their family and their communities.

The funding also plays an important role in supporting the Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar people to preserve their culture and heritage, with funding going to community-based activities and projects that support this outcome. The RNO Relationship Committee will continue its work to support the Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar people through the approval of grants and scholarships.
