Waste

We are committed to best practice in handling all waste that comes from our work to extract vital resources.

Reduce, reuse and recycle

In line with our environmental policy and international best practice, we continue to look at ways of reducing, re-using or recycling waste.

First Quantum adheres to national waste management rules and international protocols, as we try to reduce our environmental impact.

Reducing plastic waste

We’re making a concerted effort to reduce the use of plastic waste across all our sites. That means everything from water bottles to food packaging, industrial plastics and even plastic chairs.

We care for the people where we work

We work hard to improve the lives of the people in the communities where we work. Our efforts are focused on four key area: health, infrastructure, livelihoods and education. We work with local leaders and governments to find the projects where our expertise and funding will have the biggest impact, so that we are providing the help that is needed.
